Course Description:

Distances  are expressed in nautical miles(nmi) or yards.  Bearings are in degrees true (° T).  Speed is in knots. Lat-long positions are shown in degrees, minutes, decimal minutes format.  Abbreviations:  WHR: West High Rise; EHR: East High Rise; ECB: East Channel Bridge;  I90: Interstate Freeway I90; 520:  State Highway 520

Start to Control Point #1
From a standing start abeam Groat Point, 200-300 yards off, proceed at cruise speed on a heading of 178° T.  At a range from the Northern extremity of Mercer Island and Calkins Pt., proceed  on a course of 288° T to an extension of 72nd Street on Mercer Island.  Thence proceed on a course of 255° T to an intersection of the range Calkins Pt and the northernmost point of Mercer I.  Then proceed on a course of 161° T until the range of  Faben Pt and the northern extremity of Mercer I.  Commence TR #1 at 318° T for 1.0 nmi.  At the completion of TR#1 commence TR#2 at 052° T for 1.0 nmi.  Then head towards 520 WHR to CP#1which shall be at an extension of Madison Street. 

Time out
At CP#1 commence a time out.  Proceed to the restart which shall be abeam the Webster Pt buoy.  Travel within 200 yards of the 520 bridge shall be at 7 knots or less.  Vessels may proceed directly beneath the WHR or via the EHR.  The direct route will take in the order of 5 minutes and the longer route in the order of 25 minutes.  Competitors should factor these times into their start time calculations.  All contestants shall take a time-out at the Madison control point.  Enter the time of day for your restart at the Webster Pt buoy extension on the back of the Contest Log form.

Restart to Control Point #2
At a speed of 7 knots or less and a heading of 030° T restart when abeam the Webster Pt buoy at a distance of 200-300 yards resuming cruise speed immediately.  When abeam the Wolfe Bay recreational dock proceed on heading of 105° T until on range of Evergreen Point and Hunts Point.  Commence TR3 which shall proceed for 0.75 nmi on a heading of  256° T.   At the end of TR3 proceed to CP#2 which shall be at the south face of the 520 East High Rise.  Enroute slow to 7 knots or less when abeam Evergreen Point.

Control Point #2 to Finish
From CP#2 commence TR4 which shall be on a heading of 247° T for a distance of 0.750 nmi., resuming cruise speed on an extension of the 520 Eastern Mile Marker.  At the conclusion of TR4 proceed on a heading of 149° T to the an extension of Evergreen Point Road.  Thence proceed to the Finish which shall be when abeam Groat Point 200-300 yards off.

Upon conclusion of the contest proceed at a no-wake speed of 7 knots or less and return to the clubhouse.

The Official Mileage for this contest is 14.1 nmi which is not to be exceeded
